A list of the Premier League’s top-scoring strikers is in for a makeover in the coming weeks.
Here are five strikers who could help keep Premier League sides on the pace for the title this season.
Sergio Aguero, Manchester City – The Argentine has scored 16 goals and assisted on 13 in 17 Premier League appearances this season, with seven of those coming in the final 12 games.
He has also scored four goals and been involved in three assists in a top-six position.
He’s also won five trophies in his five-year career, and the Argentine has already won the Golden Boot, which is the most prestigious trophy in English football.
Aguero is expected to take his game to a whole new level next season, and his scoring exploits in his last three seasons have made him a huge favourite to claim the award.
2. Sergio Agüero, City – Aguero has scored 18 goals in 25 Premier League games this season and assisted 10 more, with a total of 28 goals in that period.
The striker has scored 12 goals in the last five Premier League seasons, and he also has the third-most assists in the top flight behind only Sergio Aguélvedor and Diego Costa.
Agüeros best goal of the season came in his final game in the Champions League against Real Madrid, which saw him net the game’s winning goal.
Agueros form in the league has been fantastic, and in 2018-2019 he will have an incredible opportunity to earn the Golden Ball next season.
Christian Benteke, Aston Villa – The Belgian forward has scored 20 goals in 28 Premier League matches this season after scoring 15 in 28 matches last season, including five in the first 10 games of the campaign.
He was also involved in the best-ever goal-scoring display in the Europa League, with six of the goals coming in this campaign, and also made it three in a row to help Aston Villa qualify for the Champions Cup final.
Romelu Lukaku, Everton – The Belgium international has been sensational this season with seven goals in 22 Premier League starts, with four coming in his past five outings.
Lukaku has scored five goals in his first six Premier League campaigns, with only six goals in all of them coming in 2017-18.
He also has two Premier League assists to his name, which would help him earn the Ballon d’Or next season if he is named as the most valuable player in the Premier Leagues title race.
Riyad Mahrez, Leicester City – Riyad has scored 13 goals in 23 Premier League Premier League outings this season to give Leicester City their best start to the season, scoring in the opening four games of 2017-2018.
Mahrez has scored 10 goals in 29 Premier League League Premier Leaks this season so far.
The Algerian forward is also the only player to score five or more goals in four consecutive Premier League fixtures this season for the Foxes, who have now scored three times in the space of nine Premier League victories.
He will look to get a brace to seal his spot in the starting XI next season when Leicester play the Leicester City of 2021-22.
Riyaldo Alonso, Chelsea – The Spanish winger has scored 14 goals in 27 Premier League meetings this season as he has scored six goals and six assists in his four Premier League goals this season alone.
The 29-year-old scored the first goal of his Chelsea career to give them a 2-1 win over Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League last season.
He is also in line to receive the Golden Boy award next season after helping Chelsea to their second-ever Champions League victory.
Victor Moses, Southampton – The Egyptian has scored 15 goals in 26 Premier League encounters this season – with two of those scoring in his previous five Premier Leak appearances.
The forward is in line for a place in the England squad to play in the 2019 World Cup after scoring a hat-trick in the 3-1 friendly win over Spain in Stockholm on Monday.
He would then be expected to score another hat-tricks in the World Cup as well, as he would be the second-most-likely to score in the tournament after England’s former captain, Wayne Rooney.
Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool – The striker scored five times in six games for Liverpool this season following a loan move from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2018.
The 23-year‑old has scored 11 goals and added four assists in 18 Premier League campaign, which also includes four goals in a Champions League qualifier against Monaco in November 2018.
Sturridge has been named the league’s best player in 2017/18 and is in the running to win a Premier League record 12th league award next term, which he has achieved before.
Christian Eriksen, Manchester United – The Swedish midfielder has scored seven goals and has assisted on three in 10 Premier League clashes this season already.
He won the League
